Back Pain - Can You Really Get Back Pain Relief Without Medications And Exercise?
If you've been searching the web for ways to treat back pain, you are in good company. In fact, according to the American Chiropractic Association, 31 million Americans suffer from lower back pain at any given time.
People are suffering and looking for solutions all the time. Often the results they find require a painful injection by a doctor or frequent chiropractor visits. Other times the results are about the different types of medications to help with pain relief. Then there are those with a bunch of awkward exercises.
While any one of those pain management solutions can and do work I want to take a minute to explore a different solution.
This option is often overlooked and not even ever considered by many professionals. Interestingly enough, they have been used since Biblical times and can even be considered by some as God's medicine.
The solution I'm talking about is essential oils. That's right, the stuff that smells good and comes in a small bottle, usually with no instructions.
Essential oils are powerful and effective. They are 50 to 70 times more concentrated than herbs, and if you get one of good quality, it only takes a couple drops to be effective.
How can they help with back pain?
Unlike popping pills which can take a long time to take effect, (and not to mention sometimes not effective at all or you get terrible side effects) oils can be applied topically and absorbed right into the skin.
The benefit of topical application is that you can usually get immediate relief. Since essential oils are made up of hundreds of different compounds making some a natural anti-inflammatory or natural analgesic, they can directly address the root cause.
The downside of using essential oils is there is a learning curve associated with discovering which oils can be used for which symptom or ailment. The good news is there is so much information out there on essential oils.
To determine if essential oils are right for you consider these questions:
- Are you limited on time and money to go to the doctor's or other specialists?
- Are you open to trying new, yet scientifically supported things?
- Can you handle strong, but natural fragrances?
- Are you willing to do a little research to figure out which essential oil is best for you and your conditions?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then using essential oils for your back pain may be an option for you.
I encourage you to also explore this under-appreciated method as a form of pain management.
